Aida with a printed background - the perfect addition to ordinary embroidery
Cross stitch is an art that has been very popular among handicraft lovers for years. No wonder - it is a relaxing, creative technique that allows you to create small works of art that delight with detail. But what if we wanted to add even more character and uniqueness to our works? This is where aida with a printed background comes to the rescue - a material that opens up completely new possibilities for embroiderers..
Why is it worth choosing aida with a print?
♥ Quick "wow" effect
Thanks to the ready-made background, your cross stitch immediately takes on a unique character. You don't have to spend hours filling large, single-color surfaces. The background pattern combines with the cross stitch, creating a harmonious composition.
♥ Effortless personalization
A printed background can give your project an individual style. For example: colorful stars are perfect for small children's patterns, and a delicate vintage pattern beautifully complements cross stitch quotes
♥ Easier work
A printed background eliminates the need to fill empty spaces with cross stitch, which is especially useful in large projects. This saves you time and thread, while achieving a spectacular final effect.
How to use printed Aida?
There are plenty of possibilities! Here are some ideas:
- Embroider quotes or initials on a pastel-colored background - perfect for a gift.
- Get inspired by abstract patterns - combine the print with delicate patterns for a modern effect.
- Use printed Aida in children's projects - backgrounds with stars and dots are a great base for personalized decorations in a child's room.
Test of markers on printed Aida
We have received many questions about our printed Aida. Does the print wash out during washing? Can special markers be used on printed Aida? We decided to dispel all doubts and conducted a test of our printed Aids and special embroidery markers. Ms. Małgorzata Gierszewska helped us with the tests. Ms. Małgorzata received printed Aids from us and tested 3 markers.
Test of 3 markers on printed Aids:
1) Prym - washable in cold water
2) Madeira - disappearing under the influence of light
3) DMC - washable in cold water
1) Prym - washable in cold water
2) Madeira - disappearing under the influence of light
3) DMC - washable in cold water
Conclusions:
The printed material from Coricamo can be washed in both warm (with the addition of a delicate detergent) and cold water, markers can be used and ironed.
Effect after washing and ironing:
1) Prym - washable in cold water
2) Madeira - disappears under the influence of light
3) DMC - washable in cold water
Test of markers - conclusions:
- all of them disappear when used according to the manufacturer's recommendations
- the DMC markers make quite a thick line up to 14ct, but smaller squares (meaning higher ct 16,18) would be difficult to mark, too thick
- with the Madeira markers you have to be quick, on the second day the squares are very faintly visible, on the third they are practically gone, to sum up good, but for small, quick embroideries

Thank you to Mrs. Małgorzata for testing our pens and printed aidas. We hope that all doubts have been dispelled. All printed Aidas and markers are available for purchase on our website:
